The application of ICTs to health communication efforts is rapidly shifting. Conventional terrestrial technologies such as radio, film, video and television have long held an important place in raising awareness of health issues, in strengthening disease prevention, and in helping to reduce the stigma and discrimination that is often associated with certain diseases. The last decade has witnessed the rapid emergence of new digital information communication technologies and information systems such as internet and telephone which has the potential to revolutionize the way rural and remote populations interact with health service providers .The result has been a significant shift in the way that health care, health information and health communications are both organized and accessed.
